MAUER PARK

Dear Caroline,

It’s my last Sunday in Berlin and everyone keeps talking about the fleemarket. I do r think I’ve ever been to a fleemarket, I’ve been to craft shows, so I’m assuming it’s a lot like that but weekly. Emilie went with me, it was one of the few beautiful days in Berlin. The sun was out and no rain in sight. We decided to walk there and see the remnants of the Berlin Wall. It was really cool to see a wall that divided a city just over 30 years ago.

The market was simple and eclectic. Rows of stalls selling things from food to souvenirs to antiques to leather goods and everything in between. I had hoped I’d find some sunshine daisy sunglasses for Caspianne but no luck.

After the market we went to Goldie’s, a fries and burger place we’ve been dying to try. Their slogan is “the best bad food in Berlin” and man were they right. We were there for the fries. Emilie got the Pekin Duck Fries and I got the Garlic and Herb Fries.  They were amazing!! Garlic aioli with herb oil and parsley Parmesan pure, it was divine. If I can recommend anything in Berlin it is this.

With full tummies and tired legs we called it a day and went home. Five more days of Berlin…
